Inspired Designs from Shelley Louise

Shelley Louise is a jewellery designer with a vision, she produces unique pieces around a theme in beautiful pearls, natural stones and sterling silver. Shelley’s latest collections are based around two main themes: Inspired by Nature and Glam Rock.

Shelley approached Philip Hunton Photography to produce creative product photography to show off the jewellery. It was clear very quickly that Shelley didn’t want the standard “on-white” approach so working with Shelley we created imagery that presented the jewellery in its best light.

More after the Jump…

Using the natural theme we worked together to create product and model shots that would show the jewellery and show how it can be worn.  Driftwood and wallpaper samples provided the ideal backdrop for the jewellery, the strong textures in the wood contrasting nicely with the smooth finish of the stones, pearls and silver used in the designs.

The photography itself was great fun, boxes of drift wood, wallpaper and textured materials to play with. Each texture offered dozens of options for framing, posing and lighting, although it was clear from the start that the sheer volume of products we had to photography would limit the number of setups we could have.  A simple but versatile setup was selected to best make use of the multiple options with minimal effort required to change the shot

Slight movements in framing transformed the images and textures shown in the shot each engineered to show off the shape and materials of the jewellery in the image.

The model shots were styled very simply, our beautiful model Emily providing the backdrop for the collections of jewellery. All of the shots were intended to be used on the new website but when Shelley saw the results of our work she decided to use them in printed posters and on printed show cards for her customers.

Shelley, designer at Shelley Louise Design said "I worked with Philip on the photography to produce both product and model photographs; the images we produced were above expectations and the extra little touches Philip provided really added to the shots. We spent more than 16 hours in the studio and the final images were delivered within 3 days. Philip went on to design flyers and advertising boards using the fantastic images and the response from them has been amazing"

Shelley was so pleased with the results of the shoot that PHP has continued to work closely with her to design and produce more photography, poster images, show cards and other marketing materials to promote thier products.

All of the jewellery is available from the Shelley Louise design website (www.shelleylouisedesign.co.uk)
